About me
My name is Sabrina, and I am the sewist/crafter/designer behind The Weaver’s Rose. I have had a long time love for costumes and a more recently found love for fashion. I started making costumes in 2019 for Halloween with the help of a friend who owned a sewing machine and put together my first mostly thrifted costume. As of now, I’ve expanded my skills, creating costumes out of whole cloth, foam, and hard work. And those skills have evolved into fashionable everyday wear items like shirts, dresses, and pants. As someone with proportions that don’t always work with standard big box store sizes, having the skills to adjust a piece to mine or your specific measurements is key. I love to work with different materials and put modern spins on classic patterns. I would love to work with you and make your fashion and fantastical dreams come to life!
So why The Weaver’s Rose? In addition to my love for costumes, I’ve always had a
fascination with birds. All of the species that make up the category weaver make their nests by taking grasses and “weaving” them together, like how sewing takes fabric and makes it into clothing. Their plumage also ranges from the common to the dramatic, which also covers the range of items I like to create. And my passion for creating is reflected in the passionate red roses you see in my branding.
